GIFTED
“You were given your gift for the joy you may give in
return”- Cornelius Elmore
INTRODUCTION:
The word gift can be used interchangeably with talents depending
on the context in which it is been used, in this case, it can be used.
According to the English mini dictionary, Gift means: 'A talent
or natural ability', while Gifted means, 'Endowed with special, in particular
intellectual, abilities'.
Nobody was created empty, nor made without a purpose to fulfill
on earth. Our journey on earth is one that is defined by our purpose and
conditioned by time. We live within the coordinates of time.
Some will say we're limited by time; others will say we're
motivated by time. It all depends on what you see and believe, and it matters a
lot what you think about time.
ATTITUDE
The way we approach the issue of time depends on our mindset,
some persons are professional time wasters, some are average time-wasters while
a few are time managers. It is important that you fall into the category of those
who know how to manage their time. "If
you can manage your time, you can manage your life."
Life is framed by
time, once life ends time strolls away. It is therefore very sacrosanct that
you invest your time doing their right things.
there are so many questions we would answering in other to
establish this topic; "Gifted"
HOW DO I KNOW THE KIND(S) OF GIFTS I HAVE?
Gifts are like seer s sown into the soil by a farmer, after
sowing the soil the farmer keeps watering and dressing the soil till the seed crows
into a tree and begins to bear fruit, the farmer doesn't quit until the seed
blossom into a tree, bear fruits, and its seed is used to grow other trees like
it.
You're a seed sown by God into the earth, while God is the
farmer, he will keep watering you until you blossom and bear fruits others can
eat from. Your gifts are your fruits, they lie within you, they can only find
expression if you align yourself with God and allow Him fan them into flame.
YOUR GIFTS
“never dim your light because others are too
afraid to come out of the dark.”- matshona dhilwayo
The kind of gifts a resident inside of you determines your passion and what attracts you naturally.
Most times it is easily identified during childhood. However, if you have grown
up without knowing your gifts it's not difficult to identify. If you sincerely
answer these questions, you'll discover your gifts.
1. What do you do with ease, without assistance from anyone?
2. What do you love doing without expecting commission?
3. What are those things that easily get your attention when
others are doing, although you feel you can do it, but haven't tried it out?
4. What are those things you're fond of doing when you're were
young? You can ask your parents or guardians.
5. You can go to God to reveal to you the gifts which He
deposited in you.
"Your gift is your ticket to a life of relevance."
EXAMPLES OF GIFTS INDWELLING IN US:
Intellectual prowess, Administration, artistic gift,
criticism, calculation, oratory, Singing, dancing, acting, and
counseling, etc. The list is endless.
WHAT DO I DO WITH MY GIFTS?
If you have discovered your gift(s), but you're elusive of what
to do with it. It's not too late you can still maximize it to impact lives.
I'll like to ask you these questions;
what are you living for? and what do you want to be remembered
for? If you can answer these two questions, you'll definitely know what to do
with your gift(s).
"The worst thing that can happen to a generation
is for men to be buried with their gifts unused."
HOW MANY GIFT(S) IS AN INDIVIDUAL ENTITLED TO?
I'll like to borrow some words from the scripture, "To one
he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag, each
according to his ability. Then he went on his journey." (Matt 25:15 NIV)
see Matthew 25:15-29.
Our gifting is dependent on our ability and destiny, as our
fingerprints are different so also our destinies. God gave us gifts based on
our mission here on earth, some persons because of the peculiarity of their
gifts they were given more than one gift, just like it is illustrated in the parable in Matthew 25:15-29.
As an individual, you can have more than one gift, and you must
also take cognizance of the fact that they are not for decoration, but are
meant to impact and preserve generations. I've seen persons who have three to
four gifts and they are using it to bless lives.
Some could sing, act drama, dance, and administrate, whenever
the need arises, they do it well without stress.
However, there
are some persons with just one gift who are not making use of it.
WHY SHOULD I MAXIMIZE THESE GIFTS?
I asked a question earlier, what do you want to be remembered
for by posterity?
Like I said, if you can sincerely answer this question you will
see the reasons why you should maximize your gifts.
REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD
MAXIMIZE YOUR GIFTS
1. It defines your life and existence.
2. It makes you relevant wherever you find yourself.
3. It distinguishes you from others.
4. When effectively and positively maximized you'll become a
trailblazer and a role model for generations.
5. You could preserve a generation by maximizing your gifts.
CONCLUSION:
"you see a man diligent and skillful in
his business? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure
men" (Prov22:29 AMP)
A man who has mastered the use of his gifts cannot beg for
bread, nor pursue money. When you confidently utilize your gifts, you'll become
the desire of many nations and generations.
