WOMEN ARE IMPORTANT TOO

 

“The value of a woman should not be judged by her gender, but by her value and impact in her family, society and the world at large.”

 

She is only human, often regarded as an insignificant being. Sometimes she goes through a lot like: Abuse (physical, emotional, sexual and social abuse), domestic violence, social segregation, early marriage as well as being deprived of her human rights. Little do we know that life begins in her womb and it is in her guiding hands and tender care that it finds expression. She is a woman!

Why do we rejoice so much when a male child is born but show little or no excitement if it is a female? Why do couples separate because "the wife could not bear a male child just females"? Why do we place much emphasis on training the male child than a female child?

A woman is a special being and should be treated as one. Although she is considered as a weaker vessel but she has been a source of strength to many. An elder once said "A woman’s strength cannot be seen with the naked eye. It can only be felt when times get rough and she is the only one left standing".


She should not be underrated, even in the Bible we can see women doing exploits, Deborah was an exceptional leader, victory was brought to Israel by Jael, Ruth restored hope and redeemed her husband's family lineage, Esther stood in the gap for a whole nation and ensured the welfare of the people, Mary brought forth into the world our Savior.

A woman is as important as the male gender and should not be deprived of her rights as well as freedom. Right to live, right to education, right to privacy, right to dignity, right to identity, right to a family, right to good health, right to express her views etc. She should be respected, honored, and appreciated for who she is not necessarily what she has. However, she can become better when she feels loved by those around her. A woman indeed is a gift from God.

  The Woman; A Man's Jewel. According to the Merriam Webster a jewel is defined as a material that is highly esteemed. And as such, it is priceless. No one places high value on cheap and common products. In fact, anyone in possession of a jewel ensures its maximum protection; some even keep it with banks. “The value a man places on a woman is determined by her worth in his life, and the value she adds in complementing him.” It is also worthy of note that the value of a jewel is in its component and composition.
