THE CHAMPIONS SERIES, "THE MAN" TOPIC: DYING EMPTY

Everyone exists, but not everyone truly lives.

Myles Munroe was right when he said that “the grave is the richest place on earth.” _ Humanity has seen thousands and thousands of people since inception, but what preserves the memory of those we remember today is basically what they did while they were alive.

“Everybody will die, but maybe not everybody would have truly lived before dying.”

Dying empty is not just an event. It is a culmination of a series of events hinged on intentional living. To die empty, we cannot neglect the question of purpose.

Man is a being of purpose. He was created with an intention.

In a bid to die empty, we must pay close attention to the "3Ds of purpose".

 Discovering Purpose.

 Developing Purpose.

 Deploying Purpose.

PURPOSE DISCOVERY.

Until we have discovered the purpose for living, dying empty will be mere and empty talk.

I submit to you, that God sent you here to fulfill just that. There are many pointers to the discovery of purpose. Nigerian Lawyer, and purpose-discovery expert, Ifeoluwa Alabi opines that purpose can be discovered using the acronym SHAPE

S- Spiritual gifts

H- Heart (Passion)

A- Aptitude (Abilities)

P- Personality

E- Experience (ALABI) [i]

Ultimately, the question of purpose is the question of the reason for life. I agree with American bestselling author, Max Lucado, when we said

_"we will never find the meaning of life, until we find the Author of Life."_.

I say to you, friend,

in simple terms, that your purpose is simply "God's message to the world through you." Do you know why God made you?

PURPOSE DEVELOPMENT.

Discovering purpose is not enough. It must be developed. It is the conscious effort to interpret your purpose into the framework that gives it a physical expression

Nurturing purpose is work. This is where many miss out. It encompasses spiritual, physical and intellectual work. From study to research, and submitting oneself under people who have a proven track-record of success. The lazy, who does not develop his purpose cannot die empty.

 PURPOSE DEPLOYMENT.

Having discovered and developer purpose, it must be deployed. This is simply, presenting your purpose in the context where it is needed. Mankind has enough words for this, from branding to marketing, but whatever means you choose to employ, ensure you deploy your purpose.

In conclusion, people who die empty have an understanding of times and an eye for opportunities. We must realize that we do not have all the time in the world, and must hence live in a way that makes every moment count. We must give a sense of value to every passing second, making the most of every opportunity along the line. I leave you with the words of Abraham Lincoln,

“And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.”

So, don't just exist, Live before you die.

  1. This truly blessed me. These words resonate more - "We have no true meaning to life if you've not found the author of Life", "Your purpose is God's message to the world through you", "And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It is the life in your years that count."

#THE CHAMPIONS SERIES 72, TOPIC: I AM A WOMAN

I Am A Woman INTRODUCTION: After birth, as we grew, we were taught to understand the implication of our gender, the consequences of making wrong actions and attributes that distinguish you from the male gender. For some of us, we raised questions, our minds wondered ‘Why is it so hard to be a woman or a girl, as the case may be?’ But other times, we uttered words like ‘Thank God I'm not a man'. So we found ourselves accepting our gender definition when the condition was favorable and appealing, and also wishing we had made another choice, if we could, as far as gender was concerned. May I remind you that once you cannot accept or appreciate the fact that you came as a woman, you would always find fault in ‘being a woman', you would never consider yourself good enough as a woman. CAN I BE ANYTHING ELSE? Let's talk about me for a moment. I am a woman (well, I would define myself better as a Lady, with respect to age and marital status). But, the list progres...

THE CHAMPIONS SERIES 75; TOPIC: BE CREATIVE

BE CREATIVE  MAKE YOUR HANDS USEFUL.   Creativity is first a mindset and then an attitude. There is no problem we come face to face with that is new, they have all taken place and were either tackled or not. It is how you solve that same problem that determines how creative you are. " We are all capable of doing great things, but not everyone would do great things or achieve greatness." Greatness is not cheap, some persons like cheap things, they rather settle for less than the best, because they don't want stress. They rather clap for the best, than endure the rigours of becoming the best. We're worth more than what our eyes can see, but we need to work more than the crowd to become that thing which we were created to be. "Nothing good comes easy, I hope you've heard it before? You have to put both your mind and hands to work to achieve the greatness you desire if not you will wallow in hunger. Greatness won't fall on you, you will be th...

POEM TITLED: WHO ARE YOU?

Perhaps, we are not afraid to die But of our kin vanishing when we stagger with cravings Of our voices echoing in empty homes Empty homes that once roared with thrill and glee For if we sit and think of the life a single breath holds, How shortly a name sticks in our mouths, And how very shortly it vanishes We will be still With purpose in our eyes, we roam the earth The lies we live guard against reality and true persona The alarm goes off, We jump into the streets to a place we many a time hate To an environment that gives our souls treachery colours Time is a monster When it takes, it takes everything Do you know why we write our names on things? Perchance if your answer is same as mine, We should write our names on our bodies too. Then again, we do not. Because we own ourselves? No That golden recollection of who we are is what we own Especially in a world that forgets The silence can stroll in anytime The lips that once said our names will shut their doors You see, warnings ...
