THE CHAMPIONS SERIES 85, TOPIC: THE DANGERS OF WHAT IF?

I have thought of the best title to give this article and the above was all I could think of. So many lives have not been inspired or will I say some destinies have been limited or simply not being helped because we have always dwelt so long on these two words “ What if ” . What if, I am criticized? What if I don’t sing the song so well? What if I fail at my first attempt and many what-ifs? IN THOSE DAYS Some of my friends and I in 2012 pioneered a group called “world-changers” and in the early stage of The initiative I had so many questions unanswered within me but somehow, I was so focused on the passion burning within me to lend my little voice to the youth who was our targeted audience? I had somewhat ifs? On my mind. Then, as an undergraduate, we had days we travelled to states for strategic meetings to plan for the world changers events , I didn’t recognize the impact of that investment we were making on ourselves and others. One of the days while we went for this...

THE CHAMPIONS SERIES 84, TOPIC: 26 IMPORTANT LIFE PRINCIPLES

A- Accept; accept others for who they are.  B- Break away from everything from anything that stands against your goals and vision. C- Create an inner cycle of friends with whom you can share your dream with, and yank away those who only see your flaws and nothing good about your vision. D- Decision; decide to be successful and be intentional about it. ‘Decide to be something better than what you use to be and don’t change your mind along the way.’ E- Explore; explore and experiment. There are a lot of things out there that are yet to be discovered. “What you discover is what you’ll offer to the world.” F- Forgiveness; forgiveness is key to happiness in life. There is a great difference between a man who live in hate and one who lives a life of forgiveness.  G- Grow; in biology, growth is defined as an irreversible increase in size, for you to be relevant to your generation you must grab every opportunity of growth. Aspire to grow in every area of your life and grow positivel...

POEM TITLED: WHO ARE YOU?

Perhaps, we are not afraid to die But of our kin vanishing when we stagger with cravings Of our voices echoing in empty homes Empty homes that once roared with thrill and glee For if we sit and think of the life a single breath holds, How shortly a name sticks in our mouths, And how very shortly it vanishes We will be still With purpose in our eyes, we roam the earth The lies we live guard against reality and true persona The alarm goes off, We jump into the streets to a place we many a time hate To an environment that gives our souls treachery colours Time is a monster When it takes, it takes everything Do you know why we write our names on things? Perchance if your answer is same as mine, We should write our names on our bodies too. Then again, we do not. Because we own ourselves? No That golden recollection of who we are is what we own Especially in a world that forgets The silence can stroll in anytime The lips that once said our names will shut their doors You see, warnings ...

POEM TITLED: HOME

This is what we get We know suffering like the back of our palms We know the smell of death better than our farms We know war in sick flesh We know it is in the agonizing screams of mothers and babes We know it is in the guns of soldiers that ever remain fresh Home is a divided populace of meaningless greed Home is pessimism Our fathers fill their bottomless cups with speed They keep pouring, cup after cup until their eyes form a prism This bizarre world do not motivate our mothers to chip in counsel Our families hang loose on the rope of half-light We are left to form roots lighter than parcel We remain buried in the dark, yet they call us children of light What are roots if they strangle you? Who are ancestors if all they do is worsen your narrative? Home at this point is a suspect Our beautiful eyes fear the world We shower them with tears to keep them from running away The fear in our hearts leave the future crooked And whenever we arrive we begin to mend it till we pass away...

THE CHAMPIONS SERIES 81 TOPIC: AIM FOR RESPECT AND HONOR

“A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one’s birth.” Ecc7:1 Nkjv Anyone who wants to build a lasting success must master the act of self-respect and creating positive track record. Today the pursuit of honour and respect is fast becoming a thing of the past, because what we are after is creating wealth and pursuing fame. True influence and wealth are built through honour and integrity. “Respect is reciprocal” this is a true saying, you cannot earn respect when you are worthy of it. Respect comes to those who know how to give it and how to live it. “There are so many honourable men and women by title, with true honourable men and women missing in action” Honour is not obtained by position or office, no! It is a function of your lifestyle and character. It is something you build over time. Why do you respect those you hold in high esteem? Is it because of their riches, cars or houses? Why is it that there are people ...

THE CHAMPIONS SERIES 80 TOPIC: WHAT DO YOU LIVE FOR?

This is a question that always pops up in my mind whenever I want to embark on any project or when I want to make a major decision in my life. The answer to this question has shaped my life, it has helped me to tailor and pattern my thoughts and rise above greed, selfishness, idleness and mediocrity.  Let me ask you this same question what are you living for?  If you are yet to answer this question, it is pertinent you do, because it will shape the way you see the world.  "We are all in the world, but we see it from a different angle." Every time I read about my Lord Jesus I always fascinated because He is a typical example of one who answered this question and lived and died for a world that is not worthy of Him. He lived for just 33years but His impact transcends generations.  Again I ask you; what are you living for or what do you live for? No one is a mistake, no matter you state, whether you're whole or handicap you are not a mistak...
