 THE MALE MAN: AN INFLUENCER   

From the dawn of time, man was created and formed in the image of the living God and charged with the charter of dominion. He was furnished everything he needed under heaven, to rule, multiply and dominate the earth. The male man however, was given the responsibility of bringing this to manifestation. It is expected that the man wakes up to responsibility and takes charge of what is his, before he loses it. For the man to attain full potential and become an agent of positive change and transformation in the society, a lot of factors must come to play. To be able to achieve this, man must take up ‘leadership’ from the home-front to the societal level. 

John C. Maxwell in his book the 360ยบ Leader defines leadership as “influence, and influence can be seen as one’s ability to alter or change the behavior, decisions and outcomes of other people either negatively or positively.” This is the lot of man, to be a major influencer in the society and to his generation at large. Thus, man must take frantic steps to get him there. The question however is; how do I influence my world and my generation? 

Become the man that consciously influences his world 

America’s master motivator and world revered public speaker Zig Ziglar once said, 

“You can get everything in life

you want if you help enough

other people get what they want."

This is the truth therefore, that whatever it is you want or need, God has placed in the life and hands of an individual(s), and you must take steps to properly connect and identify with them so as to get your own portion, be it ideas, information, relationships, finance, motivation and what have you.

MEANS OF MAXIMIZING INFLUENCE


a.SINCERELY CONNECT WITH PEOPLE: Be intentional about relating with people. You must be responsible for connecting with people, and relating to them in a way that increases their own influence. When you can connect with people, you begin to form relationships and relationships are the basis of influence. Relationship is an inexplicable resources, it balances your influence.

b.HELP LIFT PEOPLE UP: Always show kindness and attention to others. Your words and attention, might be filling the void in someone’s heart. It does not matter who or what they are, all that matter is who they will become because of you. Turbo-charge the people around you, motivate them to take steps each day that leads to greatness. Let your words build people up and not tear them down. Be part of the success story of others.


c.INVEST IN THE SUCCESS OF OTHERS: The more you invest in people and lift them toward the achievement of their goal, the more likely they are to view you as mentor or inspirer. Being a man is not a titles, positions or flow-charts but a call to influencing people and things to flourish. A real man bring out the personal best in those around them, especially his spouse, children and everyone related to him one way or the other.

d.LEAD WITH CHARACTER: It’s a true saying, that if you want to test someone’s character, give them power. Being a man of character means doing what’s right, however hard it is. Example is not the main thing in influencing others, it is the only thing. People will follow you when you exhibit strong character and integrity.

CONCLUSION:

A real man is one who has mastered the act of influencing others to become better versions of themselves, achieve impossible goals and impact their generation.
